HOW THE FUND WORKS
APPLY FOR SUBSIDY
According to the statutes of the dike and faggot disco De Trut, all profits made have to be spent on small-scale, non-commercial dike, faggot, trans, queer and HIV/AIDS projects that either receive little or no subsidies from other sources. After deducting the operating costs made by disco De Trut, the resulting figure is put at the disposal of the committee of De Trut Fund Foundation.
The committee exists of at least five members of Association De Trut. Three of the five members function as the governing body of De Trut Fund Foundation. The committee meets every two months. During those meetings the committee decides which of the applications received will be subsidized. (Applications are done online. You can find more information below concerning the how and what.) In the event the committee grants a subsidy, the applicant is informed in writing and the subsidy is paid.
There is considerable variation in the projects sponsored by De Trut Fund Foundation, and applications have been received from all over the world. Some of the projects subsidized by De Trut Fund Foundation include providing information on HIV/AIDS, producing leaflets for dike and faggot groups in South America, projects for the support and care of people suffering from AIDS, and many others. Of course, De Trut Fund Foundation is not only open to foreign applications. Also in 'Liberal Holland' there are many queer projects to subsidize. Dutch projects subsidized vary from plays, exhibitions, book publishing, workshops, supporting youth groups, film festivals, etc.
Click below on a year to see which organizations and events received subsidies each year.
You can apply for subsidy via this website. To apply, please complete the form at the bottom of this section in full and return it to De Trut Fund Foundation with all relevant information concerning the project. Legal bodies are advised to enclose yearly accountant's statements for the last 3 years. Requests can only be sent by e-mail to email@example.com
Subsidy requests are discussed and decided upon at the committee's first meeting after submission. De Trut Fund Foundation is a small fund, and we therefore we have to evaluate requests critically. If you want to apply for subsidy, keep in mind that the committee meets once every two months. If we require more information after initial submission concerning a subsidy request, it may lead to delays in the time it will take to make a decision.
You can request subsidy for a broad range of causes, but keep in mind that the cause will always have to facilitate LGBTIQ and/or HIV/AIDS emancipation. Furthermore it has to be small-scale, and the subsidy will have to be of substantial benefit to the project. Small- or big-scale commercial projects with salary payments and travel expenses do not stand a chance, as we do not subsidize those costs. Subsidizes are usually distributed in one payment.
In the event subsidy is granted we request that the name of Stichting Fonds de Trut be explicitly mentioned as a sponsor of the project. In that way we can generate knowledge of De Trut Fund Foundation and bring it to the attention of more potential subsidy applicants. We would also like to receive a financial review at the end of the project.
